Your Senior Years, Your Way:
Planning a Life That Reflects You
Change brings new opportunities to grow, explore, and live with purpose. Your senior years can be a time of joy, creativity, and connection, shaped by your choices and what matters most to you. At Optima Living, we see ageing as a celebration of experience and possibility. A chance to create a life that feels vibrant, fulfilling, and truly your own.

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
September 30 was National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
At Optima Living, we pause to reflect, honour, and reaffirm our commitment to truth, justice, and reconciliation with Indigenous peoples across the lands now known as British Columbia and Alberta.
Our communities stand on the traditional territories of diverse Indigenous Nations and Peoples. We recognize, respect, and honour their history.
Reconciliation is not a moment, but a movement—one we carry forward together.
Celebrating Healthcare Aide Day
This Healthcare Aide Day, we celebrate the incredible caregivers who bring compassion, comfort, and joy to every moment of care.
For Healthcare Aide Nanou Suamy, those moments of connection are what matter most: “Even when their memory fades, they still remember me. They look at my face and smile — it feels like a prize.”
From gentle smiles to meaningful connections, our Healthcare Aides make a difference in the lives of our residents each and every day. Thank you for all that you do.

Community improves every aspect of life, including your health!
Did you know that being surrounded by a great community has a wide range of benefits for your physical health? In fact, research has indicated that people who belong to strong communities tend to have lower blood pressure, lower cholesterol levels, and a lower risk of obesity. They are also more likely to exercise regularly and eat a healthy diet!

We were delighted to have these young men and their time last Friday night. We played axe throwing and bowling with our IL residents and cribbage and scrabble with our ML residents.

Members came to tour the community and to do demonstrations. They did Qigong Stretching, Kung Fu Fan Dancing (Traditional dance performed with a fan), Tai Chi, Hand Exercise (Self-massage on meridian points), and sang some songs for the residents.
